Deep beneath the ocean floor, oil and gas are extracted using offshore drilling rigs. Offshore rigs come in a variety of designs, each intended for a particular function. "Floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels" are floating platforms on which the majority of offshore drilling rig are constructed. Pipelines link these FPSOs to subsea wells while they are tethered to the ocean floor. Floating platforms are typically found between 500 and 2000 feet below the water's surface.
Offshore Drilling Rigs use oil and gas extraction from the ocean floor is advantageous for a number of reasons. First of all, they can survive adverse weather conditions. They are also not impacted by storms and hurricanes. Thirdly, they are steady and do not budge much. Lastly, they have a long lifespan and can be used for decades Fifth, they are quite cheap to construct. Sixth, they are simple to reach. Finally, they are more environmentally benign than land-based rigs since they consume less fuel. Read More: https://bloggers-vision.blogspot.com/2022/09/offshore-drilling-rigs-are-large.html
